Does your Growatt have an Error 102 on the screen? If you read the Growatt manual it states – CONSISTENT FAULT.
While this error is showing the red FAULT light will also be displayed, and inverter will not be making any power. This fault is an internal inverter fault that is not worth repairing, in our opinion. This is a very common error on Growatt inverters.
What can you do about Growatt Error 102?
It is worth trying to reboot the Growatt, as sometimes the error may go away. However generally this error means the inverter is broken and needs to be replaced.
Not sure how to reboot? See here for details on switching off and restarting your solar inverter.
The Growatt inverters are a cheaper Chinese inverter, however they have been in business for a few years now, and are still selling in to the Australian market, unlike a lot of the other Chinese brands.
Is your Growatt less than 5 years old?
If your Growatt is less than 5 years old, you will be covered by warranty. You will need proof of purchase, ie the invoice or proof of installation by way of the Certificate of Compliance. You will also need the details of the inverter model and fault. Growatt have an office in Australia and are generally pretty responsive when it comes to claiming under warranty.
What if the Growatt is over 5 years old?
If the Growatt is more than 5 years old unfortunately you have no warranty, so will need to replace the inverter at your own cost.
There is no-one is South Australia who repairs inverters, so it is not feasible to get them repaired.
We recommend you replace your Growatt with a quality new inverter with a brand new warranty, so you have peace of mind for years to come.
